Batteries charged by either solar or wind

So I have me a mess of Jackery batteries that came with some big wampum solar panels, and that's great--but what if'n the sun ain't shinin', and/or I need a decent capacity battery to take on the road with me, or for camping?

In that scenario, being able to charge such a battery from a very small wind turbine might be convenient or necessary.

I should start by saying that my knowledge of all things electrical is minimal. I do know that a battery powered by a wind turbine needs a charge controller to regulate charge and current, ensuring safe and efficient charging.

Do any of you have batteries which you charge from wind turbines? Batteries that can be charged either from wind or solar?

Do you have any recommendations for portable (stored in my car for emergencies) smaller such devices?

I talked to Jackery, by the way, and they confirmed that their batteries, at this time, are only meant to be charged by the solar panels they make, so I wouldn't try wind with them.

 

A lot of power solutions are designed for specific inputs and output requirements.
For a home solution you can mix and match solar, hydro, wind, existing generators to shove amps into your deep cycle batteries but each leg is designed differently. Maybe there is a MPPT/Charge controller that can handle all the different charging profiles, maybe there isn't. The jackery probably can't handle the DC voltage fluctuations from the turbine. To make it work with wind would probably void your warranty and require twice the amount of equipment, say another battery, charge controller and cables to hook the wind turbine up to the battery as the storage and then from the battery to the clean input side of the jackery. Sounds like a rube goldberg adventure. JMHO
