Yup... @Pineknot ... can be pretty relaxing... give it a try and let me know if you need any help...

Yikes @HK_User ... that's pretty bad .... you're right... I try to package well... just for those situations.... glad the contents were ok....

Well here's what a Monkey does when he has some time and is waiting for some new belts to grind with... these just need a bevel ground in and then the fun of heat treating ;)

3 different heads... 3/8ths 5160 high carbon steel

one with the finger grooves on one side will fit the cs handle...

one with finger grooves on both sides is going out after I grind the edge and heat treat... they want to drill and finish to fit their own wood handle...

the third with grooves on one side and a nub at the top, has an extra long handle (last picture)... nub is for securing with paracord in an "X" fashion if the fittings are lost... the longer handle will not be fit to cs handle but drilled to fit stainless fittings and should be easy to rehandle in the field ... or use in a pinch as is...

    Having some fun with these...
Polished them up nicely... better to do it now... makes finishing them tons easier....

Hope you all are having a great Sunday!

    Take Care and God Bless,

    Aloha Monkeys,
Had some time and the belts came today... so ground in the bevels ... ready for heat treat...;)
I realize... not everyone wants a cs poly handle... so the one on the right and the one on the left may be left straight instead of tapered to fit the poly handle... easy enough to fit to a hickory or other handle with either my stainless set up or your own from the local hardware store...
If anyone want's pick up just the head and wants to fit their own handle... let me know...
    Have a great week Monkeys!

    Aloha Monkeys,
Heat treat all done... file skates across the edge like it should and no cracks in the edges after some fine sanding with 320 grit.... getting ready to temper...
Heat treated the polls as well... after a discussion with @Hanzo ;)
The double grip and single grip with holes are now spoken for...
These will be the last of these... on to other projects ;)
    Thanks for looking...
    Have a great week all!
