I'll definitely be looking in to those. Thanks, buddy!

Can always depend on Hanzo for good food porn.Nice looking knife and very usable carry piece. My grandmother had a curved knife, like an Eskimo ulu, and a wooden bowl that fit the knife. She used it to chop up veggies, meat, etc, skin animals, and all around very handy knife. Don't know why they never caught on or perhaps that is another thing that we lost.

Did some maintenance to my Bugout on Friday, including getting the edge to how I like it and cleaning it up. On Saturday, wifee asked me if I had a knife on me. I mean... what a silly question. A better one would be, "Which knives do you have on you?"

Anyway, I handed her the Bugout since it was the easiest for me to reach from the drivers seat. She proceeded to cut open her box and said, "Oh, that's sharp." Another silly comment because I always sharpen all our knives that sharp. She and the girls just wait until theirs are dull to have me sharpen theirs, whereas I usually sharpen mine before the get dull. Less work that way and the blade is mostly always optimal. Get it to shave, then a slight convex to the edge kind of like a secondary bevel, and it stays strong and sharp for a pretty long time.

Couldn’t remember when I touched up the edge last or what I cut with it since then. So when an eyebrow hair got scratched off, it was an opportunity to test. Blade wasn't super clean, nor was it as sharp as freshly sharpened. But it still shaved curls in the hair. Eyebrow hair is much longer than the hair on my head.

Pulled out my Bugout from my pocket to open a box and realized how filthy it was after a month or so of pocket living and EDC use. Felt the edge and it was still sharp, but a little "rough." Not sure if that is a good term. Felt not as smooth cutting. even though it was sharp. Know what I mean?

I figured it was a combination of the edge needing a little bit of love and the blade needing a lot of cleaning. A dirty knife will not cut as smoothly even if it is sharp.

So a quick few passes on the strop and a scrub down wash. Clean and shaving (arm hair).
