I bought this knife as new, with no box or papers and it's just been sitting in a cabinet while I pondered its fate. I was trying to decide whether to keep it or sell it but I don't know what it's really worth because I've seen prices all over the place. So I've decided that since it was made to honor a deceased SEAL, the best thing to do with it is to use the heck out of it. So I'm going to send it off to Cleveland Kydex to have a sheath made for it and it will get some use. It's quite a large knife and while I initially liked it, the more I handle it the more I really like it. The blade profile offers a lot of possibilities.
It's pretty big, the length of the blade is 7.25" and the actual cutting edge is 6.25". But for as large as it is it feels really good in the hand. I'm going to wait until I get it back from the sheath maker to use it. I don't "go camping" because I live in the woods so I'll have to figure out ways to abuse it around here.
I like the look of that, A LOT! Unfortunately I had a run of Bad Luck with Bench Made, which has caused me to refuse to ever buy any thing they make! Still, I know it will be a good blade for you, and will likely out last both of us! Congrats!!!
Thank you @Ura-Ki. It's really grown on me. It chokes up nicely; the choil is really deep and nicely shaped and the jimping is a nice length and deep.
Nice blade. I like the slight Kukri arc to the cutting edge. Puts the pressure of the cut where it needs to be.
Also Note, that REAL Nepalese Kukuri Cutting Edges are Hollow Ground.... Which is lightly unusual.....
