One of my favorite sushi chefs happens to also be on of my part-time tai chi students. So when he told me he had a new machete that he wasn't ever going to use, and to come down and he'll give it to me... I went and got it and had sushi! So I scored a big 22-24 inch Collins machete in a leather sheath. @Bear, think of any projects to whip up with this bad boy? The sheath is robust thick leather too. And what I ate while chatting with the chef. Just note, everything was stuffed to the gills and supersized. And some of the food was freebies. Bursting spicy ahi handrolls. Hamachi, although I started breaking one piece before taking the picture. A couple of freebies... negitoro and inure on salmon. Ikura Shiromi (tai) Unagi and tako Washed it down with another freebie, miso soup with pieces of snapper in it.
I've trained with one for much of my childhood to early adult. The machete blade would be much lighter than I am used to for that application. Guandao - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
