it is great if you can identify wild weeds that you can eat. I did come up with a few things i just decided to plant. Walking onions, Small onions that grow like weeds.they grow up tall and fall over and start growing again. Seemingly foolproof. Purslane, Good for salads and chickens eat this and it helps make for some tasty eggs that have a nice golden orange yolk. Dandelions, I always hated them until I realized they're benefits and ability to grow. The soil here is horrible and I read about using straw bales to grow in, I look forward to trying it.
Acorns, have to leach them first to remove tanic acid, cat tails, lambs quarter, burdock, all the wild nuts, elder berries,Jerusalem artichokes etc. There are dozens of eatable things and dozens of more teas and herbs. Used to eat them all as a child and thought of them as just what every one did.
