This recipe has been handed down to me, is very easy to make and very moist. This is the only chocolate cake my grandfather would eat. You can use one egg or 2 and I have even used none. Blackfoot chocolate hot water cake: Grandma Chris Pierce (Frieda Chistena Royse) 1½ c. sugar ½ c. butter or margarine Cream and add 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla ½ c. milk ½ c. cocoa 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour ½ tsp. salt 1 c. boiling water (added last) [FONT="] Cream butter and sugar add other ingredients mix well.
