That is an idea unless you will be working near the fence, then it becomes a tripping hazard. The brace you designed looks strong but it wastes space. I just fixed the fence next to our drive way. The post was buried in dirt but people kept backing into it so fence post hole widened. I took some slats from a pallet and a hatchet and drove the slats down into the hole. The slats took up the extra space in the hole and they also act as a brace.
