Romanian AK-47 with Tapco tactical grip and adjustable stock. I bought her at the gun show today. I really love this weapon!
Ya, the folding stocks are just too uncomfortable for me. I am going to pick up a *gasp* scope kit for her next. After I outfit my SKS that is. I'm not made of money, so I do have to take some time. And I have a move to Texas coming soon. I love the threaded barrel on the AK.
Oh, I may as well post this here... I sighted in the AK today at a gun range located about 25 miles north of me in a wildlife refuge/gameland. Above is a 100 yard zero. Two clips, one 30 round, one 20 round. I used Wolf ammo 122gr. and Remington -Winchester 123gr. FMJ, allowing only a couple of seconds between firing each round. I had to adjust the sight slightly and then I fired the last 8 or 10 rounds into the target. (3 or 4 shots at a time) Next, I loaded a full clip or maybe only 28 rounds or thereabouts and did a standing rapid-fire at 100 yards. Last, I did a 25 yard check to see how my zero was. Actually, just to show off a little at the pistol range. While a couple of others had their .22's and 9mm's out, I was plugging the target with a Romy AK-47. Oh, I shot the SKS and it is terrible. I could barely keep the shots on the paper some times at 100 yards. I got it close to zero, but it will never be as accurate as the AK. Oh well...I will just kit it up and sell it.
nice work. Glad to see that it works so much better than the SKS.. Good buy then! BTW,On some other forums you would be schooled in the use of the word 'clip' rather than mag.... but it's OK here
I'm curious, just what type of SKS? I merely ask because I've never had one shoot that bad before. Not to say they can't mind you, just haven't had one do so.
haha, true Melbo. 'Mag' is the proper term...but I am from ***. Up there we have many terms that just don't get used very often. It is a 1966 model Yugo with tritium sights, grenade launcher, and the flat bladed bayonet.
