Big rock from space struck in the Indian Ocean around 5,000 years ago - which in man's history is not that long ago. This rock displaced a lot of ocean water and left an impact crater 18 miles in diameter in the bed of the Indian Ocean. The resulting tsunami deposited mountains of washed up ocean bottom sand and debris as it rolled over present day Madagascar, and impacted the western coast of Australia. They are just beginning to study it's impact on the Indian sub continent. In Madagascar the largest deposit from this tsunami is 600 feet high and 25 miles long. To achieve this the wave had to be at least 600 feet in height and travelling in excess of 100 mph. This is a pic of the mountain range along the eastern rim of Madagascar, now discovered to be a wave deposit. Big rocks from space are a wildcard!

I've never much worried about the scheme of things. In my experiences be it man or nature I just do the best I can.
