Buying silver, where to start

While buying 90% has the best buy price right now it's basically melt value. It's it sell it back price around here that has me thinking that bullion is a better deal.
Now if it's long term ounces of silver in the coffee can .. yeah, 90 percent is the way to go.

I've checked 4-5 LCS in the past few months. They are way back of spot on like 20 - 25 percent back of spot. Where as a bullion round/coin is between spot and 2 percent back of spot.

So if you needed quick turn around and you assume the price is the same. Bullion you'd probably lose about 3 percent. Junk silver .. probably going to take a 20 percent hit in the shorts.

Just remember the timeframe you are needing the money for. A quick flip in junk silver is like buying high and selling low at the moment.

 

My silver purchases are preps, not an investment. It doesn't matter how high, or low, silver goes I'm not selling. This is like food, guns, ammo, fuel, water filters, etc., I collected them for a reason and if I sell, I'll just have to turn around and buy some more otherwise I'll have a hole in my preps. Fiat money is useless in a SHTF situation, and you rarely get advance warning that the sh*t is about to hit the fan. About 10-12 years ago I had to sell silver and guns during the Great Recession, but as GOD is my witness I will never do that again! I imagine that in the years after SHTF some fieldhand/serf/slave will carry around tattered documents that "prove" that they used to be "somebody" and "rich" and will bore anyone and everyone that will listen to tears. I plan on me or mine telling him to shut-up and get back to work.
