the direction CA is going - they'll be passing a Euro type law where your mandatory home gun safe can be inspected at will - everything needs to pass code and inventory matches submitted quarterly reports ....

that recent CA ammo law won't work without something like that ....

    Ghost Guns!?

Why would you go through that?

Your name and address is most likely still on record.
Laws can be passed to use that information for no knocks.

Selective purchasing, with checking on seller can mean any type or weapon.

Store them off-site. They can't demand that you turn over something they don't know you have. Cash on the barrelhead local purchase for 80% parts.

I think you miss the Point, here... These local Yahoos can demand anything their little Brains desire, right up until you get them in Federal District Court... That is where "Your Rubber Hits their Road"... If it is a Blatant Violation of your Constitutional Rights, that is where you "Stick it to them"...Just look at the Cake Baker Case... He Lost in every Court that adjudicated his Case... Until his case reached the SUPREME COURT of the United States.... Which ruled 7-2 in his favor... He was vindicated... It was a LONG and Hard Road, for him, but he persevered, and WON on the end....

Yeah it could. And with the ability to control communications channels, it is entirely possible no one would be wiser until their door was kicked in.The indicator would be the 'net going down easily done, or just specific sites disappearing. Also easily done. To initiate any meaningful resistance the group targeted for suppression, (or elimination), needs some type of real time communications system to get word out. Else it's everyone on their own.

If they try a latterday "Kristallnact", they'll need a lot of body bags for all the dead agents, LEOs and politicians.
Sure, a lot of gunowners will bend over, but a good percentage won't. That's as good a spark for "Civil War 2" as any.

The other day I was reading a snide post from an Australian who talked about his contempt for American Rambos who thought that the second amendment was a joke. He laughed at the idea of citizens shooting it out with tanks and gunships. If it ever gets to the point of people needing to take action I would mention that everyone has to go outside at some time. I admit wondering about how much of our military would go against fellow Americans or be willing to be commanded by U.N. forces. We do live in a communication age where everything could be flipped backward and be used against citizens. It should be interesting seeing what our leaders? Do and at what point do people react. I figure about half the country has strange anti-freedom thinking and is willing to give up rights and freedoms thinking they will be safer.

Tanks and gunships would mean all out civil war, before that would be house to house searches. Even a stranger from the strange land should be able to envision that. If Australia wanted to enforce their anti gun laws they would be doing such as stop and search of vehicles and the same in the Ghettos of the main city or two. In the USA this would be really hard to ignore and a wake up call.
Sheriffs in the US are the arm of the law that would be responsible for the basic searches in the rural areas. One or more losses for a SO is real news and would also be a wake up call.

OTOH, the more socialist countries do not have the mid level SO, just more cops on the beat that are hardly accountable to the civilian population. This fact and many others is what is missed by outsiders.

If his Constitutional Rights had been observed at the start of the process I could agree, as it was the man and his company, employees and others in the community took a major hit in all aspects of their life. That's not a win my book.

What it is? More intimidation, tightening of the noose and turning up the fire a bit more for the frog in the pot.

Most Sheriffs in rural counties would not try an unConstitutional gun grab. They know better, and most don't support such draconian misuse of the law. Many do not enforce laws they oppose, like confiscation of "assault weapons" they well know are legal weapons.
Big city cops, a different matter entirely. The Police Chief is a political position, usually appointed and supported by the mayor. That Chief does whatever his boss the mayor tells him to do.
But if nationwide confiscation is attempted, many cops and politicians will die. I hope we can avoid that by not allowing the statists to go that far.
