It was in an email I recently got, from an old army unit having a reunion in Vegas....It is kind of perplexing, as I no longer "speak" military linguistics... J CIV DISA FO-NORTHCOM (???) What or who is this agency.... J= ? (I have no idea) CIV= Civilian ( I think) Defense Information Systems Agency= DISA (confirmed) FO= ? ( no clue here either) Northcom. ( sheesh!) Ref: email I recently rec'd...The individual is known from my prior military service, But, the MIL affiliation/association is strange to me. Anyone, decipher what this "unit" is/does?
I'm guessing "J" might hold for "Joint"( "purple suits") "northcom "= the "latest major command" ("specified command"?? can't remember the difference anymore) which covers the conus. Centcom= central command = Middle east
