So sorry to finally hear this QS. I know he was a great bud and fellow adventurer to you and I know you will miss him dearly.

I think a Pendleton salute is in order.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Jack. I am reminded of a letter I saw in Dear Abby many years ago about where to burry your dog. To make a long story short you burry your dog in your heart along with all the good times you spent together.
Again I am sorry for your lose

Plus one, Quigs A"relationship" with a pet can be very deep,
I prefer animals to people sometimes.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your buddy. I had to put my little terrier down, years ago, Still hurts. Didn't cry when my dad passed; bawled over "indy".

Yes, it is never easy losing a loved one. A dog is just as much a part of a family as any person. Wishing you the best.

Your best hunting partner, your buddy, your friend,
Stood beside you and minded you right to the end.
And tho' in his last days he couldn't keep up,
You helped him. You carried your old, aged pup.
And into the truck, to the river you'd go
Where he'd lay on the sandy beach watching you so.
Unlike days of his youth, when he'd jump in the bed
And do anything, everything, for a scratch on the head.

He lived for your happiness, rejoiced in your love,
And thrived on the kindness you were never short of.
It never mattered to him just where you were going
Hunting, fishing, just to town, he'd be there; always knowing
That no matter where each day's venture would end
He'd always be there with you, Master and friend.

    There's a reason that your and Jack's lives intertwined;
He's there with you still, in your heart, in your mind.
For the joy that he brought you, it never will end -
That's the gift that he gave you, his very best friend.
He leaves you with memories that will bring smiles and laughter,
And waits for you, loyally, watching from the hereafter.

For your loss, my dear friend, I send prayers from the heart,
As I know the pain suffered when best friends depart. [angel]

Thank you all, Tracy thank you very much for that it still has a way of bothering me when I read it, in a good way.
It is amazing how after 15 years of having a dog and the everyday things you do that are gone, like stepping aside the door because you know he is going to be going through when you open it, but now he isn't there and everyone looks at you as if to be wondering why is he stepping to the side before going out the door.
Also my biological clock was set to get up and let him out, I still can sleep past that time and some mornings I find i stand up and head for the bedroom door before realizing hes not here anymore.

Thanks everyone he was a deep part of our family and i cannot get past the part of not having one.
I still go to the door , open and step to the side and look back, and he's not there....
I wake at 4:00 am just like its ground hawg day and head for the living room to let him out and he's not there.
I come home and when the family is still gone I go out and sit and miss him when the time on the porch was our time, and he is no longer there.
so the weekend I am going to look over some pups and see if one attaches to my heart.
If so I will post a pic or two.

There will be one Quig - if not this weekend then another time soon. Years ago, I picked up this little 8 week old Dobie and he started to suckle my ear lobe. It took me another 4 hours to accept the fact that he'd been mine since that first snuggle

:^) Just kidding. For all the trouble mine causes, he's the most loyal and loving creature I've ever seen -- first dog I've owned too. (y)
