Can't fly the American flag??

    That helps alot,as time goes on I have found new ways to look at things and am always learning as i go, and that post you made above is what i was exactly looking for to help clear up my questions.
    You should make a post on its own, it looks like a really great start for others to get an understanding as well.

    I once listened to some cold war era Soviet national songs with translations in English. We all knew during the 80s that the USSR was oppressed by communism and was either evil or living behind locked doors in fear of the KGB right?

    The lyrics of the songs had things like 'We are the Free-est People in the World, The world should look to our glorious Freedoms and Liberties", etc. Even the people living under the Iron Curtain didn't know they were oppressed.

    Thanks to the propaganda ministry. Every socialist and communist regime has custom tailored anthems to suit the cause, and repeated them as often as they thought necessary to convince the public. Hear it often enough, you come to believe, eh? (That would NEVER happen on this side of the pond ---)

    +1 on the news from out of the country. I don't think the UK is all that good, it pretty well reflects what we see here, but from a bit further left. I poke around in the far east on line news, which often agrees with my thinking in direct contrast to the US MSM. They do have their propaganda, but it's so obvious and transparent, it's easy to ignore.

    If you have a commissar with a loaded pistol pointed at the base of yor skull. you will write and sing any damned crap they tell you to. You will note that none of the Baltic States are singing the patriotic songs of the Soviet era anymore.....but I guess they do nervously look at them from time to time in the event that Putin wants to relive his glory days of the KGB, and resurrects the Politburo of the 2nd Union of Soviet Socialist Republics... may that day never happen, but don't count upon it by merely praying that it don't happen. God was rather non interventionist the first time that THAT particular political / economic experiment began.

    My whole point was who gives a sh*t. If you want to fly a flag in your neighborhood, you should be able to. If the kid wants to fly flag, let him. He was flying for a relative with service in some past war. No matter what sick twisted thing the left or right tries to twist this into, the kid should be able to fly the flag. That was my point. I know you are sick and tired of the right. I know you don't trust the left. I've heard the same conspiracy on corporations, banking, Bilderburg, and the lot a hundred times before, but that's not what this is about. This is about a fundamental right that everyone on this site believes in. I know we all do, because we are exercising it right now. That was my point. I wasn't attacking YOU Broker.

    When you say:
    We are essentially saying the same thing. To wave the flag for what it stands for, whether or not that seems false or trite today, one is still standing for the republic. It's the act that is important, not the flag. More people remember that ideal than have forgotten it. It's not as dismal as it seems. We see little victories all the time.

    In more ways than one, we are saying the same thing. I just leave out the typical corporation spew.... that's where you come in ;)

    I do think you should lighten up. I've seen a gradual "tenseness" into your posts lately. Always gloom and doom. Relax Brokor. Have one on me [beer]

    Yeah, some of the footage used is especially interesting. I especially enjoyed the 1970's footage in an interview about the 4 points to control the country which was devised by the Soviets.
