Have people in the school system lost all sense of humor? Just tell the people paying in pennies that they'd need to move to the end of the line. If I worked at the school I'd be laughing my arse off, pretty creative personally....
I can't believe that the parents would stand behind the school's punishment of the students. They cannot immediately change district school board policy (that takes some time ) and punish children for paying for their lunches by any means possible. Joke or no joke, it says more about the school than it does the students.
I once had an asian teller at a store on a military base tell me she wouldn't accept a two dollar bill because the store "only accepted American money"
