Please share pictures of stuff you have carved. I enjoy my bladed tools!

What prompted this post was actually Facebook. It randomly pops up old pictures as a reminder and ask if you want to share it again. This morning, and old little monkey picture popped up, where I carved her a flower out of an apple. Both monkeys enjoyed eating it "petal" by "petal." Haven't done this in a year or two. Better get hopping to it again. Honestly, I don't know if they enjoy it more than I do.

So I start off. And you guys add, ok?

I had a hand, well not that part, but a part in making that face. [do-it] Only peeled and carved the apple.

The Cow stick is pretty well seasoned, cut off a bit on the bottom and it is down to about 8lbs, that is amazing since it started at 42lbs.

I plan on carving on it, does that count?

The shapes and colors are beautiful and kinda show you the way, haven't done any in several years. I did a lot of carving when I was working construction welding or millwright work all over .gave me something to do on weekends when it was too far to go home, kelp me out of the bars and temptations. Once was working in Connecticut was a 7 mo. job took a piece and finished it, had brought the family with, one day the wife told me about a wildlife art and wood carving show and competition so I took the piece on Friday night had to work Saturday went back Sunday and found two ribbons on the carving, first place and best in class. Trying to explain what a lighterd knot is, is well. Have seen some sand blasted and wow, makes a good wall hanging.

The walking sticks were made by an old man where I grew up, all the old men around had one I thought they were so cool, he is dead now for several years but I did get to visit him and had him make me some 5 feet long without the handle the one in the pic one of my sons put it in the campfire so it still is used when I go for a long walk in the woods. The man's name was Harmen Griffen and I found out his sticks are

My tai chi students are the best people!! My Hawaiian student carved a pair of koa escrima sticks for me. He gave them to me in class today. Said it was from the class, because he is so classy. But I know the koa was from him and he carved it.

At first, I thought he turned it. When I asked him about it, he said he carved it by hand. So instead of a sword today, I used one of the sticks. When handling it, I could tell that he did in fact carve it. So cool! The rounded ends were a nice touch too. It will focus the energy there nicely on thrusts and butt strikes.

Koa is a very pretty and hard wood I was lucky enough to make a trade with a guy in New Zealand for a board that I made a sling shot out of
