All but the $10 per transaction privately owned ATMs around here will get emptied out just because of an excuse to drink based 3 day weekend.
Went to my bank the last weekend in June and 2 or the 3 atm machines were empty. Here is one from the admin: Banks told to reveal tech meltdown plans I did not know the UK bank melt down was caused by a failed update, last I saw everyone was suspecting Russian hackers and I also didn't know some people were unable to access their accounts for up to a month. I thought it just lasted a week at most. What are you going to do if your bank just stops working for a month?
My rent and some bills would be later but for our family, we would be fine. We are a prepper family for a reason. Cash is king hen purchasing and a very sensible way to live but having fuel, food and necessities is equally important.
Something to think about now that some of the "what if our banking system breaks down" conspiracy theories just gave birth.

silver price is way down but dealer markup aka 'premiums' are way up making it basically the same cost per ounce pre-covid. In some cases even more. typically discounts applied on large bars .. but no .. not this time. Someone offering you spot for your Ag/Au has someone willing to pay 10-15-25 percent higher on the line.
When they sell at spot they are usually worried the price is going to go down and they will take a loss. I call it dealer panic selling, which hasn't happened during the great virus scare.

300 odd milion people (may be) entitled. Say 3 people per mailing address. Now, inquiring minds want to know, how many checks can be printed in a day, and how many of those checks can be delivered in a day? The run is apt to result in a fairly drawn out "run."
