    woOT!

I had picked up one of these and a few 30 round mags a couple of years ago and just now thought to try it out. Ammo is skyrocketing in cost, falling dollar, and I have a lot of cheap 22LR to play with.

The Ceiners are very simple to swap. On the AR, you simply pull the rear pin, slide out the carrier and slide in the replacement carrier. 10 seconds max. He also provides a 30 round mag that looks fairly crude but seems to do the job.

I fired off around 300 rounds this afternoon. Not a single hitch in the system. The Ceiner carrier is a blowback design and reciprocates within the upper receiver. No gas system is used or relied on. I even tried subsonics and they functioned flawlessly as well.

I got to thinking tonight that my 22LR suppressors are threaded the same as the barrel on the AR... [gone]

I just ran out and spun the FH off and screwed the can on. I was a little concerned about muzzle threads being aligned to the bore. Didn't want a baffle strike or extra hole in the end cap. [booze]Screwd my eyes shut, set down my beer and took the shot. phffeet. Hollywood quiet. Well, except for that slamming action of the conversion kit itself and the case being tossed over the bed of my truck. My tests worked well and I'm pleased that I can toss my can on this Oly.

This is the first time I have ever fired this AR. It's not seen a round of 223 yet to my knowledge. woOT!

'Sfunny, was just thinking Ceiner the other day. They go 135 on the web with a mag, Xtra mags under 40 variously. How accurate is yours?

I thought they were about $300

Nice. Thanks for the pics Melbo. I am also curious about accuracy. Did you have to manually cycle the slide when you used the subsonics?

I bought mine during the stupid "Assault Weapons" ban and the only mags available were 10 round. I guess I just didn't think about the ban being over.[gone]

Sea, that price is for 10 round mags. I haven't looked into the 30s, the kit isn't in the budget just yet, but am giving it serious thought pending accuracy reports.

    Ceiner website is here:

I bought this kit ans extra mag at Knob Creek a couple years ago from Jonathon Arthur himself. He cut me a little bit of a deal. I think hes 90.

This one and the Glock 19 conversion work perfectly.

Did you have to manually cycle the slide when you used the subsonics?
    No. They fed and ejected

I was just shooting towards a hillside. I'll toss out a target and see how accurate they are. If nothing else, it's a decent training aid.

Available in Glock, 1911, Browning Hi Power, Beretta, Taurus, AR-15, AK47, Mini-14 and Thompson. not a bad line up.

Spare 30 round mags on his site are $59.

does the M16 one function in an ar15?

Yes. In semi. It will not convert the 15 to a 16 by itself.

How did you get the can on the AR? Extra threaded barrell?

you just unscrew the flash-hider and screw on the can.

I didn't think about that. I thought the flash hider had to be permanently affixed? I assume it could still be removed (breaking tack welds, etc.) then reattached.

My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas last night. I told her nothing at the moment (I buy everything I want) then this morning I re-directed her towards this thread. [beer]

While partying at a friends house years ago, seen my friends 3 legged dog do the same to his cat, funniest thing I've ever seen. [lolol]

They are only permanently silver soldered on when the barrel is below 16" on it's own. The M4s have a 14.75" barrel. This one is 16 so if you wanted you could spin the FH off and still be legal. Comes off with a wrench.

Just ordered three Black Dog full-body 27 round magazines at $36.00 each and sent the request by email. The owner gives a significant price break to military and Law-enforcement; $75.00 for three. That's pretty cool.
