I had a neighbor who swore Buckeye nuts were chestnuts, and he was eating the dang things. From what I've read, buckeyes should make you sick, as they are mildly poisonous.

If taking buckeye, always tell the doctor and pharmacist. People with bleeding disorders should not take buckeye. It is a blood thinner. Do not eat buckeye seeds or nuts. They are poisonous. Do not take buckeye if pregnant or lactating. Lots of uses I am not familiar with, but the bold part is what I told my neighbor.
The salve is real good for itchy skin. But, it stinks. My neighbor said he was afraid he would be thrown out of Church if he used it on Sunday.
