Seems to be in full force but not yet stampeded mode here in South Louisiana.
Already reports that Costco is sold out of water.
Heck I can just turn on the faucet and get enough for me,coffee and the dogs.
Neighbor just passed by saying there's at least a 100 cars getting sandbags.
It's just crazy close to mass hysteria about a little storm in the gulf.
I've been in worse situations before.
How about you other coastal monkeys,Seeing any of the hysteria taking place?

Were in Earth Quake Panic Mode here! Most are Completely Oblivious Sheeple, but those who think it's all going to end tomorrow are loading up the pickups and clearing out the normally safe sources for needful things! Were not panicking, that's why we prep in the first place, but it's interesting to see those suddenly "Woke" to the danger!

God Bless and Keep you and yours safe, Will be thinkin of all Southern Monkeys!

We got some flooding in Orleans Parish this morning. Not so bad in Jefferson. Most people here can actually think for themselves! I'm as ready as I'll ever be for a little rain storm.

Just sitting here on this sack of seeds, up on top platform of the windmill, happy as a tick on a fat dog. What was it Alfred E. Newman on Mad Magaine said? What, Me Worry?

No panic shopping here...just lots of folks that can't drive on wet roads.

I never realized how ugly a new F150 is without a right door and fender...

Here near the east TX Gulf Coast the local H.E.B. had most food items tonight, but was shy of the variety one usually sees on the shelves. Most noticed were the vacant shelves of certain name brand bread loaves (the ones with all the grains and seeds). Also missing were large areas of certain carbonated soft drinks. I stocked up on certain easy-to-make comfort foods like mac & cheese, pizza, instant coffee etc. that I was already going to resupply. Already have the usual stored items well secured.

Premature panic is useful if you take notes:
    • What sources reported the condition that created the panic
    • How long did it take for people to panic
    • What did they purchase in anticipation? How does that match your preps?
    • What didn’t they panic buy that they should have? Might point to useful trade items to stock up on
    • How did people act during panic shopping and otherwise?
      • Polite? LOL
      • Assertive?
      • Aggressive?
      • Confused?
      • Violent?
    • What does that tell you about self protection needs?
    • Who didn’t panic? Stupid/don’t care? Already prepared? Maybe time to get to know them better in advance of serious business?
    • Who couldn’t get out to get some extra things like elderly folks?
      • Maybe consider checking on them and see if they need anything? Could be good excuse to see the combat shopping first hand.
      • Of course you are keeping quiet that you have preps. “Hey, we were going out to pick up a few things. Are you guys set? Water, food, meds? We’d be happy to pick a few things up.”

As for now things are calm. The Lowes across the street has not been pillaged of plywood and generators yet. Work at the shop has been slow. No one here in panic mode. Grocery store had a nice crowd but they were orderly. However there was no bread. I'm takeing play by ear approach to this situation.

I'm a little worried that nobody will show up for my gig tonight at Ironhand Brewery.
