I'm partial to the skeggog (bearded) ax style as well.

Skegg is beard and ox is ax.

A bud in Finland is a Sissi. In Suomi, Sissi means guerrilla and in the Finnish military it is light infantry. Their version of our LRRP.

That's cool. I am a big fan of the axes from that region. Good steel, generally a good design. Biggest problem I have is finding one with a long enough handle to suit me.

Same here, I like Finnish axes and knives.

What you want is a Viking war ax. :)

These are nice; a rubber roller inside the sheath keeps it secure.

I'm going to save that. Very nice. Discovered that Mora Companions a few years back, and got hooked on the puukko for basically all of my noncombat steel that isn't period correct.

I have an Arms and Armor hand ax that is of the skeggog pattern. Did a review article on my blog. Shade over 2lbs, 22ish" handle. Bought it to use as a hand ax paired with a shield in my wilder days, kept it because it is a workhorse that keeps powering through crap. I'd like to get a better made one, and one with a 36"-42" handle on it with a 6" edge on it. VERY partial to battle axes, when they are even the slightest bit practical.

There are two types of sheath; plain and with the national emblem.

There are quite a few skeggox types, Saxon, Dane, Finnish etc.
