It looks good YD, and guard dogs to give early warning of hungry critters. Roofing the chook yard provides shade, and keeps the ground dry. May they keep you in eggs, meat and compostable manure for a long time to come.
Nice job. I will suggest that you screw a strip of batten over the wire edge being held down with nails. I have found that Coons will pick on the edge or ram the wire nailed from the inside until they make a hole.
Roofing the yard also protects the ladies from our heavy eagle, hawk and owl population in my AO. I have a friend down the road that lets his girls free range for the most part.... he has been taking losses lately.
Possums are bad around here. just had a friend loose 7 hens in as many days Varmint ended up in a "live Trap".
