    The Iditarod is something like 1100 miles long and is done in around 12 days. That's pretty intense, but I think it shows that a dog team (even a team of two) can go pretty much anywhere you want them to.

    On wheels, the dogs could undoubtedly go further and faster. Sledges are a drag. I had a friend in northern MI that ran dogs, summer and winter. The training sledge was wheeled. Lost touch years ago.

    But a diesel doesn't need to sleep --

    Sure looks like fun except for the part where she was going close to the edge of the cliffs.
