Customer = Investor.......... NOT!

Had a conversation today with a group of my left leaning customers of the 25-30ish year old range. I do believe I lost four customers over this conversation. The conversations started out with "As investors in your company, we want to see the following changes made........" I stopped that train of thought right there, and explained that they were customers and not investors in my farm or company. While their opinions carry weight, that they really have no rights to make demands. Then one decides she is going to educate me "Everytime a customer makes buys something from you they become vested in your operation and own a small piece of it, thus we have every right to tell you how to run our business!" My patience ran out about then and I told my LOL investors they could leave on their own or I could help them leave. (One of the demands was that I not keep guns on the farm or on my person at any time........ Because it makes them uncomfortable and scared knowing that I have guns here and on my person.)

So how in the hell did we come to this point where a customer believes they own your property because they purchase what you produce? LOL after they were gone another customer that sat silent during the exchange said "I can't believe I just heard what I heard, never in my life would I have expected that to be angle liberals would use to subvert private property rights and go after guns as a bonus."

So what do ya'll think about this emerging belief that patronage = ownership of the establishment being patronized?

If you refuse to accept their patronage, they're angry. If you refuse to abide by their demands, they're angry. I would have done exactly what you did, and invite them to leave and never come back.

I believe that when they do not succeed in effecting the outcome they desire, they will become violent. Happens every time their argument doesn't stand up to even marginal scrutiny.

@Thunder5Ranch glad u kicked them. i see this in corporate america. its an over extension of the thought '.cuxtomers are your company' Corporate America uses this to train customer service reps to be nice to nasty customers and in doing so many of the younger generation has taken this thought one step further to make themselves believe they are important. you are seeing an extreme example of the same thing that happened when we had the american Civil war over slavery. Now some of the younger generation. Think they are the 'owner's as customers. it's such juvenile thinking....
Although I can see where it comes from.... I am appalled at the arrogance and self centric thinking.

You dudes are just consumers who get to contract such purchases of goods and services as are for sale at an agreed price with relevant terms, conditions and exclusions. You are not investors....you're little more than mouthy oxygen thieves. Have a nice day."

Would the customer be right if they had told you that the voices in their head told them they owned you business?
This is the same mentality that was used to force an independent business owner to provide a service to someone they disagreed with.

Only thing I would have offered would be their choices in soap, clothing, face or hair style offended me and never come back!!

You each excepted the terms of exchange of goods that did not include the farm. They received produce? you excepted their FRN's.

funny, people think because they have money they can dictate rules but, they couldn't raise fart much less grow anything. South Africa is having a problem where radicals are killing white farmers thinking they will inherit the land. Now the land goes back to the wild the ones that kill do not know how to farm so the stalls in the city have less food to market, Socialism in action. Then we look at Venezuela nationalized farms the workers don't get paid, if they do grow a crop ( and thats hard to do without seed and fuel for equipment) the government comes and takes the cattle and crops. There is no incentive to stay so they move to the cities where there are few if any jobs a months pay equals a few days food the noose is tightening, I do not know how they have made it thus far.

There are a large number of socialists that refuse to turn their backs saying it is only because their leader needs to be replaced and socialism is still pure only the present leader is corrupt and more that pledge allegiance to Maduro as long as he provides food to them. there may be a breaking point but I hope we stay out because the numbers that refuse to change, the government will only blame us because as I see it would take years to turn around and buzzards circling all the way rallying the masses to riot for any reason. Puerto Rico has a similar mindset the union blocked bridge access to emergency aid thinking they deserved it first. The governor attacked Trump instead of trying to befriend to get more help, I never heard where you beat the burro with the stick that had the carrot got you anything but a swift kick

Personally I think the world has gone bonkers.

Trying to reason with liberals is very similar to trying to put lipstick on a pig, you are not going to change reality and it makes either one unhappy and belligerent.

As customers they have the right to purchase their goods elsewhere if they do not agree with something that you are doing, and that's it.

When are you going to move from that screwy state? It's about to go broke and the taxes alone have to be eating you alive. It's only a matter of time when, out of desperation, it begins to confiscate private property. Since they're the ones making the rules they can invent any flaky excuse to justify it.

Even if they don't succeed, you'll be tied up for years in court because you have one too many rain puddles on your land, or maybe they don't like the fact that you use fossil fuels to power some of your equipment, or maybe like the bigoted snowflakes that you just encountered, they don't like that fact that you own guns. As long as Chicago basically runs the rest of the state, that leftist stranglehold on power will never be broken. The only other possibility is the formation of a new state (call it South Illinois), like some Californians are thinking of. Maybe I-80 would make an ideal northern boundary.

But in the meantime, those people that you just encountered are an example of the mucked up reasoning that's so rampant. Many more just like them are interwoven within the state government, and those people hold one hell of a lot of power.

Just tossing out some ideas. Not being there means that I don't know all the details of your everyday life and dealings with people. But it seems to me as a distant observer that something's got to give. Those you encountered are basically harmless. But they're the tip of the iceberg and they share an ideology with those who wield power over your future.

And using the same logic, they and their friends are going to consider that they "own" all of your resources if TSHTF and of course they want you disarmed to make it easier for the policeman they send to take your resources for distribution. That has worked out so well in the long run in all the countries that have seized productive resources for the good of the people. Eating your breeding stock, your seed stock, and displacing those who know how to farm has not been a good strategy anywhere in the world.

Tell them their mere present offends you thus they are no longer welcome on your property until the day they have studied and read all of the Constitution and can pass a short quiz on same, as you only sell products to intelligent Patriots. Until that day comes they are persons considered trespassers and will be treated accordingly.

One of the Carl marx ones?

    You know what this means.
Now you have to have more bigger scarier guns visible, but at the same time still keep them secure.

That reminds me, I forgot to find a gun rack for my tractor over this winter.

I guess I have truly reached the IDGAF stage in my life, or maybe I'm just a cranky old man. Either way, someone comes onto my property to buy my eggs or to have me fix their shit and then tells me they own a part of my shop or a percentage of my chickens? Oh, so you don't like like guns either? They scare you do they? Well imagine how they're gonna feel when I stuff my 12 gauge up their ass and carry them around like a kid with his popcicle.

Man, I have no idea where you live, but it's in the wrong place if that's the going attitude.
