Dehydrated Watermelon, PLUS!

    OK, so I got a nice yellow-meat watermelon late last week, cut it into eights, took some and decided to try it in the dehydrator. I sliced it about 1/4 inch thick, cut off the rind and de-seeded it. Some slices I just put a little salt on (so-so), some salt and pepper (much better), some soy sauce (so-so), some truffle oil and salt (so-so), and some I took and put slices of red jalapeno peppers and a bit of salt. I dehydrated till the watermelon slices were pretty dry, but not crisp. The ones with jalapeno peppers I took to work. They were rather spicy, but real tasty, at least to me. We have a few chili-heads at work, so I passed some around. Talk about a major HIT!! One person even told me that was the best snack they'd ever had! Wowzers! So, got home today, had some free time and finished up hacking the watermelon into pieces, slicing some peppers and fired up the dehydrator. Yummy!!
