More like "re-wins". He was their rep for 3 terms, before unsuccessfully campaigning against Kathy Hochul, governor of NY state. That area of the state is actually a lot more middle of the road than anywhere around NYC, or north of the Big Rotten Apple. Which is how the doofus, Santos, was able to get elected. Given a strong opposing candidate, Suozzi may not win so readily.
Interesting theory, but the GOP keep on primarying weak candidates, and in the case of a gender fluid, lying, criminally indicted Santos...their local GOP background checking seems to suck badly. Even Donald tRump could see that Pilip wasn't worth endorsing, without risking hurt to his own electoral chances later in the year (assuming that he isn't in a jail cell already by that time). It has to be said that tRump has made a number of failed endorsements over the years who have spectacularly crashed and burned. For example...in 2022: I do have to wonder how many GOP candidates will be lining up for Donald Trump's endorsement, if he becomes a convicted felon before the 2024 Presidential election...and I wonder who would be prepared to risk their political reputation by shackling themselves into a three legged race, as Defendant Donald's VP pick?

What drew you to this story? Was it that the Republicans did the right thing and kicked that embarrassing con man shit Santos out (something you will never see the Left do) or just rubbing another one out while you attempt to troll yet again? Anyone, including a run of the mill piece of crap Democrat is an improvement over Santos. That said the Fanni Willis meltdown is far more interesting and important.
