    They have a basic design flaw.

    Makes sense to me, b52g has wire rope cables running through the center of the fuselage above the bombay ( crawled upthrough an access hole in the front of the bombay once. ). I thought they were control cables( could be wrong,or theycould move valves for the control surfaces. but they are there.

    Fly by wire is here to stay, so are composites. F-117 Fly by wire, F-16 (IIRC) Fly by wire, B-2 Fly by wire, F-22 Fly by wire. This allows inherently aerodynamic unstable planes to fly.
