RIDGEFIELD, Wash. -- A Ridgefield woman called 911 after she shot her husband with a shotgun early Saturday morning, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Authorities responded to the couple’s home on 51st Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.

They said Eddie Martin, 51, was suffering from several gunshot wounds.

His wife, 51-year-old Sheryl Martin, was later arrested on assault charges. When Sheryl Martin called 911, she told a dispatcher she had shot her husband and she wasn’t sure if he was still alive, deputies said. <TABLE class=storyAd cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=storyAdObj>

Eddie Martin is expected to survive the shooting and was expected to be taken from Southwest Washington Medical Center to Oregon Health & Science University on Saturday.

There is no word on what led to the shooting.
