The sad fact is; We are a nation of Sheeple, Clowns along the lines of the Cowardly Lion, and Greedy Bastards
I think I'd do well under a benevolent dictatorship.
I don't care about her Politics, or the Politics of her song, But her voice has ALWAYS brought Chills and Tears to soul.....
She has one of the few voices, that does that to me every time I here it...... ...... and I don't care if YMVaries...
We will have to disagree on that. What I mean is you might, but I certainly will not, and in the end I don't think you will either. Problem is; there are just too many people in this nation now who think about this issue just as you do. As to my statement about the Sheeple, Clowns/Cowardly lions and the Greedy I am sure there are others who think as I do, but there are way too few of us to even mention, or that can make a significant difference. I weep for our nation, and the rage burns deep in my heart, but we are too few. I fear our nation is lost......
"benevolent dictatorship" are two words that should never go together. Benevolent means "characterized by showing good will" and dictator means a ruler of a country with absolute power, usually won through physical force." No one could do both.
Not true. The Pope is a benevolent dictator. Absolutes are almost never true.
That is an argument we are not going to have. But I will disagree with you. The church has a very long history, and not all of it is clean.
This one may be, but you can't say that of those in the "Past"
I don't argue . . . I prefer a debate. Arguments are emotional. Once you become emotional, you have lost.
I mentioned nothing of the Catholic church. I wrote "the Pope," as in Pope Benedict XVI--I stated nothing of past Popes.
So, to clarify: Not true. Pope Benedict is a benevolent dictator. Absolutes are almost never true.
In your comment you did NOT specify which Pope you were referring to. There have been many.....
I concur. Otherwise, I would've stated "Popes" instead of "the Pope."
When one writes "the President," it is generally accepted that you are speaking of the current sitting President . . . no? Otherwise, you would refer to them by name.
Religion is emotional. It is the unseen, and the un-provable, it is FAITH above all. To discuss Faith without emotion, is to discuss taste without smell. They are too inter-related to separate. And the Pope by his very office is the word of God made flesh. And the Pope is the highest officer of the church. You can not separate them.
I am not Catholic, My relationship with God is personal to me, and I will not discuss it further.
No, your statement was NOT Clear, in who you were referring too, just as when you say "The President" and do NOT specify "President" of WHAT, It could of a Bank, or Corp. or Board of Directors.... Unspecified is just that, UNSPECIFIED......
Ok...whatever. Context must not be present in your conversations.
You and my 9-yr-old daughter argue in a very similar manner
What context? You provided the "Pope" to the conversation, and it was unspecified.... We are not Mindreaders, and since there were NO other references to any other individuals, it was up to you to provide a clear specification as to just whom, you were referring to.... Or provide context to establish just whom you were referring to.....
LOL ..... send in the clowns .....
how far we have strayed from the original post or subject .....
