Populated by bats and venomous spiders, the underground complex was found in the limestone bedrock beneath the pyramid field at Giza. "There is untouched archaeology down there, as well as a delicate ecosystem that includes colonies of bats and a species of spider which we have tentatively identified as the white widow," British explorer Andrew Collins said. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2009/08/13/caves-giza.html
Cool! I have been to Giza many times. It is an awe inspiring place. The fact that Zahi Hawass would state that they "know everything about Giza" just shows the arrogance of these Egyptologists. They have theories and defend them doggedly.
Basically, if there are no golden artifacts and other treasures to be had, then it isn't a discovery worth mentioning. The fact that there are cave systems is not an interest if there are no major archaeological finds. Maybe they will turn up something, who knows?
And he said the Great Library of all the Ancient Hidden Wisdom would be found there. It must be under all those bat droppings...
