He was a talented actor. Remember "Marty" Most of you are probably too young but I know I'm not the only film buffs in our midst
R.I.P. Ernie you did good in this world . I remember Marty from TV in the late 50 or early 60's I think it was the Loretta Young play house . He was quoted once as saying they should get rid of all the politicians !!! He will be missed !!
Gosh, two good decent actors in a week. Andy and now Ernest. Loved him in McHales Navy. Think he was a decorated vet if I remember correctly. He starred in so many supportive roles and always did a great job.
I do remember Marty, great movie. But my favorite is McKale's Navy Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2
He had a short, but very memorable part in this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082516/ Not to forget a part in one of my most favorite action movies of all time, the cabbie in Escape From New York. These two movies were the first time I ever seen him on the screen. Of course, later in Airwolf, and then a plethora of other movies (Ice Station Zero, The Wild Bunch, etc) when I started to get old enough to watch more movies of that type. 95 years old... He had to do something right to make it that long. And working up until the end, to boot.
I remember an anti-gun,anti-hunting interview he did for a magazine years ago, never had much use for him after that.
