Facebook highjacking my browser

This is the third time this has happened. After browsing FB in my normal browser, Firefox I try to go to any other address and it directs it right back to FB. I can type in the address for SM and it goes to FB. I click on the "Favorites" link for SM (or any other site) and it goes right back to FB. I sign out of FB, clear all cookies and browsing history, same thing.
The last two times this happened I went in and deleted everything I could find on my computer and on FB site. I deleted my FB account and then restarted it with a different screen name. I don't know what finally worked but I got it to stop. Now it is doing it again. It always starts when I am on the Monkey. Could it be the "Sign in with FB" tab? I never use that on any site. I will have SM open in a different tab and when I try to go to a new page it goes straight to FB.
I have to go into my files and bring up IE (which I never use) in order to get back on here.
Any ideas what causes this and how to prevent it? I have about had it with FB and with Yahoo mail too. I think I'll delete every online presence I have except here.
If it wasn't for being so far away from my grandkids in the states I wouldn't even bother with FB at all.

sounds like it's a browser hijack. could be from malware or a virus on your computer.

I wouldn't think it's the sign in with FB from this site, not ruling it out, but there would be others reporting the problem as well.

A guy at work had a redirect that he could not get rid of so I suggested that he export his bookmarks and uninstall Firefox then reinstall and import his bookmarks which cleared it for him.

My son posted a video on Chem-trails and sparked a wildly long discussion with hundreds of responses, somehow the entire dialogue along with the video disappeared from his page. The following link is scary to our first amendment rights.
Yes there are people who spread Lies and rumors on the internet, that's always been the case, a lot of it comes from the Government themselves!! However having said that, I saw this on TV the other morning, there is a program that has been created to target anything that is deemed a Hoax or Untrue and investigate the persons account to determine if a history is evident of posting things that this Program or Whoever is running it deems to be unacceptable.
My first question will have to be "Who determines what is true and what is not?"
If this is the case there should almost certainly, be no Political ads on the Web at all!!

Seems to be right in line with Obama wanting to put "observers" in newsrooms and media outlets.

Sign on to FB via private browsing, if you use that brand.

Fix your Firefox , clear all cookies , and then NEVER accept 3rd part BS ones , Make two identity -s , Real with buying and real work , then like here that is wide open to DHS & all the rest , I see 4 trackers on just this page here . Download the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware & facebook blocker , turn it off whey you decide to let DHS know your thoughts .

Right now I'm on the Fun (BS box) .. Reboot with shuttle SATA SS drive shuttle & then back to clear work.

We have been having issues more and more with firefox. It was a great search engine but we have to delete it then reinstall quite often. I think it all started to go downhill when it would redirect to google. I don't know why.

I run maleware bytes on my computer. I tried the deleting firefox and reinstalling and importing bookmarks. Plus a total scrub of cookies and browsing history. I got back on tonight and so far no problems. Thanks all. I'll see if it does it again.

Go tools /options /privacy tab / uncheck 3rd party cookies / and i would have it ask every time , then have an evening of learning all the BS that comes with different WEB pages . You must have at least one cookie from here to be able to login.there is also a button there to see cooties & erase them .. I'm running FF 29 beta .

download for free & read the installation , EACH PAGE on loading , only install the basic program :
Thank you for downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from CNET Download.com

Thanks all. It seems to have cleared up this time. The last time it was days before I could get rid of it. I deleted everything I could think of. I run Malewarebytes regularly and CC cleaner.
