Buck (deer) fever that is. I thought I was going to be fine with missing the season again or just walking around our place a few times, we have 13 acres that sees VERY little deer traffic, until I was on my way to work this morning and found I left home about 3 seconds late as an 8 point buck ran across the road just a little to far ahead of me for me to be able to speed up enough to smack him and slow him down enough for me to catch him. After that I decided I need to find a hunting spot and go kill meat. Since I don't have any more work until next Wed and deer season opens in the morning I'm going to go to my moms (in the city) in the morning and take out the tree I promised I would and then head up to my uncles place and go look for meat in furry wrapper until this fever subsides or Tues evening when I have to head back for work regardless. I tried but the truck didnt have enouph acceleration and the ditch was to deep and fence to strong to chase it off road. I have been known to go off road after them before if theres not much of a ditch.
Ahhhh ---. Venison sausage. Half and half with some nice pork, loaded with pepper, a touch of garlic and sage and smoked well with hickory. Shoot straight, shoot once, and enjoy the feed. Go get 'em.
Well, I have 3 tags so I hope to shoot 3 times anyhow. Happieness+ a big steaming gut pile on a crisp fall day!
