11 bux a filet. Said another way, 11 bux for the main course at dinner. Have you priced a grilled salmon dinner out lately? Might not be all that bad, sez me, and maybe me only.
Ghrit is right. Unless you live in Alaska or somewhere it comes in off the boat, salmon is $$. Local grocery store here is running a sale, $13.99 a pound. I can buy ribeye steak for less than half that, and if I order salmon at a decent restaurant I'm looking at $16-20 a plate. Factor in the freeze drying and packaging... I wouldn't mind having a couple of cans tucked away for a special treat should the S ever HTF. I don't see any mention as to whether it's wild caught or farmed tho.
It would have to be Farmed, as the Alaskan Salmon Run, is running a bit late this year.... We did our first 300,000 Lb Run a few days ago, in the Freezer Plant... Mostly Reds and Chums.... Pinks haven't made an appearance, just yet....
