A dry fly and fly rod works, too. Just dangle the fly in front of said frog and, bingo!! However, only if you are a starving pilgrim...
I am surprised the light does not scare them off. Never been frog fishing but most creatures avoid a shining light.
Not since I was in my 20's when a friend and I went frog gigging in the delta. Took a burlap bag full with a buddy when in my teens. We barbequed the legs, low and slow... Yummy!
Flashlight, frog spear, canoe during the night. Shine the light on the frog and they generally will not hop off the lily pad and you can stab them with the spear. Bullfrog legs make good eating
