This is for the other seekers who, like me, can't find any firm info online about upgrading the electric elements on a GE Geospring Hybrid water heater. Can I replace my 4500W (watt) element with a 5500W (watt) element? I'm not giving electrical advice but so long as you have a 30 Amp 240 (double pole) breaker in your panel and are using #10 wire between the breaker and the water heater, you should be fine. I removed my (failed, cheap) factory 4500W elements and replaced them with Camco 'ripple' ULDs (ultra low density) and have been running them successfully for 2 months now. I went with a 4500W 'ripple' ULD in the lower and a 5500W ULD 'ripple' element in the upper - all good now Camco 02952/02953 4500W 240V Screw-In Lime Life Ripple Water Heater Element - Ultra Low Watt Density Camco 02962/02963 5500W 240V Screw-In Lime Life Ripple Water Heater Element - Ultra Low Watt Density
