LOL, that depends on what you are doing..... a machete for getting through the blackberries, a hatchet for intermediary trail duties.... and an ax at the cabin... or axes, splitting mauls and so on.

Also if you are using a tent, get the seam sealer with the petroleum distillates in it.

Erect the tent, Seal the inside of every seam in the tent first the the fly amd vesty.

Then seal the outside(of the tent and flys/vestys) seams next

This is the stuff Gear Aid Seam Grip Seam Sealer - REI.com

    Sweet.

The historical accounts say that it was not uncommon to see the French in my AO wearing 7 different blades to account for all of the fighting and survival tasks they had to deal with day to day.

What is the trapping situation like up that way?

It may have been mentioned already, if so 2X.

Do not have cotton as your primary material your clothing is made from.

Once damp you will never get it dry in those conditions.

With synthetics and wool they dont hold water and if the rain stops, you can actually wear them and the body heat can dry them.

In 100% humidity and cold, your tent will condense water vapor from your breath on the inside ....

Down sleeping bags can turn into a wet heavy worthless piece kit in a hurry if you get water into the tent or via a non-rained fly pack/sleeping bag cover, Synthetic fills "maybe" preferable to down in extremely wet environments

A good wool blanket, no matter what else you have for bedding. Spare tarp for cover or ground cloth, wind barrier, or heat reflector.

Also, if it snows, the snow will be wet, sloggy stuff - none of that nifty powder the skiiers love. Melts in the day to slush, freezes hard at night nice and slick.

Strongly suggest adding a bicycle to the kit so you can leave the PNW behind. Too wet, too liberal, too depressing, too many snowflakes (of both kinds), too much BLM ---
On the other hand, if you are half amphibian, the Olympic Peninsula would suit you ---

I am fond of tarp and wool blanket setups. This is all info I can work with.
