If you have been watching the weather along the Gulf Coast you can see it. An unwelcome visitor is coming to town. I'm keeping up with the position of the storm. Every 4 hours it's updated by the weather watches. Got just about everything thing I need to get through this. So far there is no panic buying of supplies or plywood! This surprises me but most are sheep and think the government will take care of them. Been through this drill with Katrina and I'll go through it with Gordon! Bring it on Gordon!

On the bright side, I'll have a chance to see how well the wind turbines work ;)

Here in North Florida, I will gladly watch it pass well south of me.
We also have TS Florence out in the Atlantic, headed for the East Coast.

As of right now, you are not in the bullseye, just the first ring, and on the wet side to boot. Batten down the hatches, pull the cork on your fave libation and stay safe.

Once upon a time, on an Island far far away a storm was set to hit.

The Fire Chief, the Police Chief and I rode at an Atlantic Hurricane that scoured out a ragged path from Fla To New England.

We did this in a Bunker with a Jet Wash type Ramp front facing the ocean. We were in the oldest Civil War Bunker that was converted to secure the Police and Fire Captains.

All residents were told to get off or be on their own for the duration.

Yup, Join the Navy and see the world, one storm at a time!

After riding a 440 foot Navy Frigate through a hurricane, land 'canes don't bother me much at all. I respect them and prepare for them, but I don't fear them.

"Set condition zebra" and no worries, but I can't do that with this house. But I CAN and DO prepare for heavy weather. (But once upon a time, I walked on a bulkhead (wall to you landlubbers) while rolling around off Hatteras.)

Once a person makes it through Hurricane Katrina, anything less than a Cat 3 is just wind & rain they decided to name.
