Heck, it is a derelict.... I wonder if Seacowboys would want to go claim her for salvage.....although the bunks are gong to be very short....[yack]

Goodness, a lick of paint, and some mechanical repairs and this Japanese Mary Deare is good to go. I'm surprised that some pirate consortium from the Horn of Africa hasn't already snapped it up as a pirate mother ship. The unrefrigerated holds of rotting fish may be a problem, but possibly not an insurmountable one. : x

Heck no, that rotting fish is probably liquified by now. Vacuum it out and we're good to go. I would think international salvage laws would apply. Check for radiation before boarding though.

What a switch that would be - Americans cutting up Japanese ships for scrap!! [beer]

    Fish preserved by irradiation??

Given the time lapse since the Tsunami, and the possibility that the ship may not have been any where near the reactor plumes, it would probably be relatively safe, though it would be prudent to check out the state of decay of any isotopes, as well as the decay of any fish products. YMMV

The consensus of "scientists" is radioactive debris is highly unlikely.

Not even likely that there was any product in the Fish Holds, as when it was swept out to sea, it was tied to a dock, most likely in between trips, and had delivered the catch already..... Being from the Fish Biz, that is the most likely senerio.... ..... YMMV.....

    Monkey Pirate/Freedom Radio anyone??
I know there is another DJ on here aside from myself and BT is more than qualified for handling transmissions of a more serious nature.

Agree. The pix indicate she is unladen. The holds will still need cleaning ---

Thank you for the vote of confidence...I think??

I think that you'd need someone more like Adrian Cronauer, than 2 Lt Steven Hauk.

He'd better read it too cuz I know I can't pronounce 1/3 of the words he uses and I smoke too much to read aloud some of his more lengthy prose.

Excellent idea. There was a radio station based on a ship in international waters off of the coast of Lebanon years ago. They actually told the truth about what was going on in the country, and no one could shut them up. They also played the best music of anything on the airwaves.
