Karl "hang 'em high" Denninger at Market Ticker gets it right about the Charlottesville debacle: Not only did the "alt-right" people have a permit the city attempted to revoke it and their action was struck down by a Federal Judge who granted an injunction against the city. The organizers not only requested and received the promise of public law enforcement support, a judge signed an order demanding same, an order that was then intentionally disobeyed by everyone from McAuliffe on down and, as a direct and proximate result, multiple deaths and myriad injuries occurred. BUT ....NOT...KARL WOULD BE BAD FOR YOU...SORRY
Friend of a friend was there, but a block away when the car ramming took place. He had pretty much started making his way out of the area because, in his words, the cops may just have well been on the side of the protesters. He also believes most were professional protesters, and had a lot of professionally printed signs, and stayed just behind the "amateur" protesters. If true, it certainly suggests a deviation in the politics of demonstration enforcement.
