did you hear that 250,000 Federal employees had their Credit card limit's increased from $2500 to $250,000 to 'speed the aid'?

I also read that the last time they did this, there were charges for Hookers, Casinos and one case of Breast Implants... What are they thinking?

Wrong info, unless it is the military maybe. Our Gov. cards have NO LIMIT. For good reason though. Imagine being detailed out to California for months. I can't talk for other agencies, but ours fires lots of people for mis-use of of them. The trust of the public is not something to take lightly.

I did hear about one former employee who used his Gov. card to buy breast implants for a stripper [ROFL] ...................that he never even slept with.

The government credit card $2,500 limit is a month melbo...it's a purchase card.

It's used to purchase items. Some of us have higher limits than others. I use mine to purchase things like benches, rose bushes, road mix, stone, markers, coffee, creamer, sugar, laundry soap, TV's (hey I told you I get to purchase strange things).

Then again the money I use is not government funds but donated funds (and I bargain shop for the cheapest I can find). I do not like having to pay more money for something when I can find it cheaper.

On the other hand our hands are tied because we have to buy through certain companies - thanks to good old GSA and their stupid contracts. So we get soaked on some items - I mean you can't tell me that we should have to pay $700 for a TV when I can go out and buy the same dang thing for $400 (I kid you not).

Of course I love it when the system breaks down and you can't get an order through...then I just say the heck with it and go out and use my own money to buy laundry soap and coffee. Easier than letting some of the patients not have clean clothes or their visitors get coffee...

But back to the credit cards...I'm betting they're going to do it on a case by case basis in the end.
