I see were New Zealand has banned assault weapons.bernie Sanders is calling for gun control. If bernie sanders is elected president one of the first things he will do is call for gun control. Semi auto “assault weapons” will be the first then on down the line until play cap guns are outlawed. He needs to be tar and feathered and shipped to Venezuela for about twenty years no less along with the whole dimocrat party. We keep Trump for another term but then what? What gives California and New York the right to say what laws and customs the other states have to follow? I think trump ought to make a deal with Russia and China to take New York and California off our hands. We would have to put in a big bunch of money to sweeten the deal but in the long run that would be money well spent. Do we as Americans even have a say in the way we as a country are governed? Shut down our borders, bring back the death penalty, make breaking the law painful and then just maybe we would be the America we used to be.
Will See! Gunlaws will not stand, look at several of the states that have had ether the sheriffs decide to NOT enforce unconstitutional laws, or states who have decided to simply strike down ALL gun laws as unconstitutional! I say we are having a good old fashioned awakening, and it's past time we took back our rights, and I think it's going to happen sooner then any of us thought! Here's hoping, and hoping it doesn't get bloody!
Bernie is a Democratic Socialist. Socialism is Tyranny so nobody should be surprised by his glowing support of removing a Natural Right as though it were a Government controlled privilege. Naturally, AOC and several of the left leaning Dems are gushing with praise as well.
NZ has registration. It's quite difficult to get a firearm there so the authorities know where they are and who has them. Soon doors will start getting broken open at 3AM in the name of peace and,uh, children! Coming soon to a country near you!
Unless NZ has a registry of all gun owners + a complete inventory of what each one owns, compliance is going to be tough to enforce. They have licensing, so they know who owns guns, but whether or not they have an inventory of each owner's property will determine how well this can be enforced. On another note, gun control was one of the goals of the mosque shooter. The NZ government handed him an unequivocal victory and they didn't waste any time.
And the main reason something like this would NEVER happen here, is the 350 Million ( at least) guns in private hands that have almost zero registration or any other means of tracking and identification! They don't know who owns what or how many and are powerless to stop gun owners!
You would be surprised at how many guns would be turned in if the gov asked for them. Too many people have family’s to feed, don’t want trouble or live we’re its hard to use them, some even believe the gov has their best interest in mind. Maybe your best friend would turn you in because he didn’t want you to get in n trouble. I personally think we would be in a civil war if that happened. Trouble ahead.
Violating my rights is criminal, passing laws to take away my civil rights is criminal. Anyone coming at 3AM to take your gun is a criminal. Anyone not motivated, just think of all the people who have died in our military so our rights could stay intact. Giving up and giving in, is disrespectful for those who died so we could retain those rights.
Nobody around here is ever giving up their FIREARMs, Period... and no State Trooper in Alaska would ever try and demand that any citizen, who hasn’t commited a Crime, give up their Guns, especially if they live out in the Bush... Any Governor who directed such a Policy would be a Lame Duck, for sure, and maybe even a Dead Duck... We even give our Felons, there Gun Rights back, after they have been Off Paroll for 5 Years.. Yea they are still Prohibited Persons under Federal Law, but the FEDs are to busy framing Politicos (think Ted Stevens) to worry about prosecuting rehabilitated Felons, for Firearm Possession, if there is no other underlying Crime under investigation...
..... yes and no..... for MSSA (Military Style Semi Austomatics) and MGs yes they do. But none of the firearms used in this event were either. You average US "Ban Era" AR or other so modified self loaders are/were for purchase on an A Class licence, not hard to get, much like the same licence here in Aus, and there is no registration for these. So in essence you could go buy a AR with a supressor (these are over the counter/unrestricted items in NZ) with the most basic licence (about as hard to get as a drivers licence).
Makes me want to go out and purchase that SOCOM Scout M1A and do some sadlak upgrades https://www.sadlak.com/product-page/gas-piston.
In these United States we have Senate Bill 7. What could go wrong with that? Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to begin conducting hearings next Tuesday, March 26, on Senate Bill 7, the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2019—otherwise known as a national “red flag” gun confiscation bill. The bill was introduced in the Senate by Marco Rubio (R-FL). If this gun confiscation bill passes the U.S. Senate, it will most certainly pass the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives, and President Donald Trump absolutely WILL sign it into law.
If the Dems win the next election , we " will " find out just how unrealistic and unconstitional it really is.
The future truly is unknown, even with laws and agreements intact. Just ask Russia and their non-aggression pact with Germany. How paper can be ignored. Our rights are literately on a piece of paper, and is only a reality if we embrace them. The sad thing is this piece of paper is not, non-negotiable as the power does exist to modify, redirect, or terminate any of its contents. This is why these rights written are our strength. Shall Not Be Infringed, seem allot lately as optional to our country with out any legal intervention. This is where the danger truly begin, is in suppression of our rights illegally and only being over ruled by request, not legal process as required.
Lived in NZ on the north island in a little hamlet called Opotiki, for about 6 weeks where I got to know the people very well as I lived with them and worked on the dairy farms and tossed hay. Unless the culture there has done a 180 degree turn, there is no way in hell that they will easily give up there freedoms or weapons. The Maori family I lived with where very strong advocates of all freedoms.
