As an individual it is only possible to really have freedom and liberty if the society as a whole permits it. You can as the ancient Greeks said have a freedom of the mind living as a hermit in a cave with nothing, but most of us desire something a little more comfortable than that. The blog Daily Reckoning and several other blogs have been talking about that in detail. In an article discussing the effect of the spending on the still on going "pandemic" an attempt is made to show what effect it may have on our society. If we don't trust the system to be fair, we can make no plans nor have any security as some outside force can change the rules and destroy both our plans and our security. Arizona Opens Huge Can of Worms - Daily Reckoning Neither of these articles are of the nature that the sky is falling, run for your lives, but they do point out that in some period, most likely in the next 5 years, either a massive return to some form of a republic based on solid principles must occur or we will be entering new and untested waters for our country and some folks wish to enter those unknown and historically dangerous waters at full speed ahead. Old Chinese curse of "May you live in interesting times" may well be our new national motto as some people think that they know what the country needs and have a Devil's given right to do what is necessary to bring the changes about. There is a problem that is rapidly developing in the USA, much of what used to be posted in the Tinfoil Hat area of this forum is now old news on the major news networks and when one of the news channels I receive on my TV, NBCLX, states that it's goal is to Present the News in an Entertaining way and makes no attempt to claim that it is anything other then leftist propaganda. At this moment they are presenting a program on economics,money, and different currencies and openly list it on the guide as entertainment. Thus they make no attempt to claim that is either news or unbiased. Given the nature of our educational system as well as those that pass thru it untouched, they watch propaganda that Goebbel's would be proud of and accept it as fact and use it to enforce their beliefs. While I am just as guilty in my own readings, I at least attempt to confirm the facts presented, but then of course I was educated 75 years ago in a 1 room schoolhouse and was actually taught something. Just try to change the public perception on ANYTHING without the money of Gates, Musk, or the Gov. You can't do it and that is what Marxists use to win. The women try to change those things with equal rights, a 50/50 work force, etc. That is why they go crazy and have split personalities and schizophrenia etc. After spending your whole life trying to make the impossible happen you would lose it too. You can only fix yourself. Lead by example. For example, I know that the banking system is not only corrupt, but also doomed. Fiat never works. Ever. I also know the economics behind Bitcoin so years ago I put a years pay into it. Now its worth about 10 years pay. But I didn't ask for the government or my job to setup my retirement. I didn't ask for help. I did the research and made the best choice I could. Yeah it was a risk but with the financial education, that risk seemed very very small. Even today people argue about IF bitcoin is going to be around even though all of the financial experts are dumping their money into it. Warren Buffet sold his gold shares to buy BTC. I don't need FRNs. I don't need a retirement plan. I don't need a mortgage. I don't need welfare, unemployment, obamacare, food stamps, a raise, a promotion, or any other hand out because I take care of myself and my family. That is what MEN do. Yes there is always a chance they will hunt me down, throw me in jail, kill me and take my stuff or what ever but I refuse to play by the insane rules of society [which is doomed]. Talk about insanity. Lets all go sailing on the Titanic because, even though we know its going to sink 100% with out a doubt, everyone else is doing it. Walk away. All I need is freedom and Constitutional LAW. Not statute or color of law.
Therein lays the rub. Caveats are automatically skipped when reading the "news". Curiosity is suppressed from birth to grave in this day and age, acceptance of the words and opinions of your "betters" is almost a mantra taught from lecterns and pulpits.
The problems started during the 1960's with college students rioting and protesting the Vietnam War, the majority were rabid socialist's, communist, and marxist influenced. Many of those became teachers of our youth and brought their madness into our educational system. And they were joined by "progressives" that came to believe punishment for minor transgressions by children was "bad" and would traumatize children, ignoring of course that the last 4,000 years sort of proved that a lie. So our education system has spent the last 40 or so years more programming children rather than educating and disciplining them, ignoring also that education is designed to teach people how to think, not what to think. And I completely agree, our "news media" is more propaganda these days rather than presenting all the facts and letting people make up their own mind. Even the "News Hour" on PBS has become biased and is more promoting an agenda than news and the facts. Our current media would make Joseph Goebbels smile. It is especially troubling as even yet the media (and warped and twisted politicians) refuse to address the violence of anarchist's and marxists that have been tearing the country down by referring to those thugs as "peaceful protestors." I would like to think that the pendulum will swing back right. I would like to think that people would realize that socialism doesn't work. I would like to think after the most embarrassing president ever people would start using critical thinking instead of mob rule. I would like to think that people would see the wisdom in the Constitution. But I don't.
Imo the country is on the verge of collapse. I hear this all the time well the pendulum will swing back the other way and things have always gotten better. I often wonder if the Romans or Egyptians or Greeks said the same thing when their countries were in decline. We are so far in debt we can never get out of. Our universities have brain washed several generations that the US is evil and socialism is the way. The promotion of diversity has splintered this country to the point many don't think of themselves as Americans. A good economy has been the glue to hold society together just look what the pandemic has done to our economy and the riots that followed. Our Universities have trained our enemies (chicom students) go home and work against us, we sell off our assets to our enemies for the almighty dollar. I could go on and on --rant over. I quit trusting the government when I saw how we were just pawns in some political BS in Vietnam and we weren't there to win. That's when I realized the government doesn't give two Shi!! about we who they send off to war. My distrust at an early age has only been re-enforced as I have gotten older.
There are no 'betters' even though everyone says they are. Everyone has an opinion but 99.999% of them are full of BS. The only ones who get to the top are the ones willing to shout their lies the loudest. Just look at our government right? The stoic man who takes the attacks and stands his ground without sinking to the level of the swamp creatures is truly rare.
There is an idea that the human species has already split into two different strains: hunters and prey amongst their own kind. If any of you have ever seen the 'Frazzledrip' video you will see what I mean. I hear there are similar videos on the Hunter Biden laptop. The idea is that they think the next step in human evolution is a super predator species that feeds off the rest of us. This is why the largest industry in the entire world is human trafficking. Like every other conspiracy theory this sounded too ridiculous to be true. After hearing Hillary Clinton say, in an interview, that there is a video of her on the dark web doing rounds I started to do some research. Lets just say that there is a better than average chance that it IS true. Be very careful if you look into those things. They have no problem taking anyone out.
I used to laugh at conspiracy theories. Now I am frightened by them since so many have been shown to be true lately.
