Hi from central Texas. I must say WOW do my wife and I have alot to learn, thought we had a good handle on things. Well at least we are better than most right?

 

The reason for my better than most comment is because I have a great wife, awesome kids, and also the fact that i know that what precautions we have taken is far more than the majority.

Welcome Cowboy... Riddle us not....You sound to be a young man and have started prep's.vs others in your age group and local guys that have not...
Have you land,Farm, Ranch perhaps...?

 

I personally donot own any land. My parents have about 20 acres down here.

 

20 acres is plenty enough for a few crops...I'd say you've a good start...!!!

My wife and I are the only ones in my family that believe there is bad time ahead of us, my mother and father and all 5 brothers and sisters think were crazy. I have tried to get them talked into starting some stuff for all of us, i even offered to pay for it. none of them are intrested.

 

Hmmm..Rusty you may then consider getting a little land for yourself...Something to grow a crop on...

 

Funny thing is 2 generations ago nearly everyone prepped if they were able as a way of life.

 

We have been looking to buy for the last two years almost, land is expensive on this part.

 

True enough..I recall the chicken's,8 acre garden,canning,and Uncle Donalds Jax beer...ccc..

Funny you guys are saying that, my mother made fun of us for prepping, her parents being from the great depression era were certainly preppers. She has told me that she had to do that all her childhood and nothing ever happened. I have tried to tell her that times are a little different now.

Getting sheeple family members to become like minded can be like pulling teeth.
Your approach needs to needs to be subtle at first.
I start by planting little seeds of thought.The seeds are little stories about so,and so who lost their job,or got injured,spent their savings,and almost ended up on the street before they could get any public assistance.
This kind of thing(both)happened to me this past year,and even with 4mo worth of preps,my savings,family help,selling my firearms,and everything else of value,the pantry was empty,and the bank account/wallet/pockets empty before the first assistance check arrived.
Now many months later I still havnt recovered financially.
This kind of shtf scenario can happen to anyone,at any time.
