    Hey all,

Been looking for a new community to join and after poking around a bit, landed here. Looks like a great group of people.

My name is Rob, and I work in law enforcement, and also run a side business teaching wilderness survival skills as well as firearms classes.

I'm an NRA instructor In just about every discipline, teach permit to carry classes, former USAF, and have been working in search and rescue for about 15 years. Also a tech geek and Ham Technician.

I'm a political junkie, and am active in lobbying at the state level, particularly for gun rights related issues.

That's all I've got for now. Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Hi @Bushcrafter welcome to the monkey. So what do your classes consist of? Do you have week long trips?

We have done some 7 and 10 day classes, It's not my full time job, but maybe one day. :)

We have 3 levels, Intro, Intermediate, Advanced.

The most popular by far in the intro classes. We cover fire-starting, shelter building, navigation, wilderness first aid, and self-rescue techniques. Lots of city people with little to no experience, or people looking to test their "youtube expertise" in the real world.

It's how to signal and draw attention. I tell them what we look for from the air and how important it is to stay put.
In advanced classes we talk about the bleaker side, after 3-5 days, major search options are suspended, and you need to evaluate options for getting yourself to a better spot.
