Thank you for having me on the forum.

I'm in Upstate New York and I spend a fair amount of time throughout New England as well. I'm a backpacker, hunter and sport fly fisherman. I'm also a microfarmer, an historian, a writer and photographer. My prepping interests are in microfarming and homesteading, as well as wilderness survival.

    Thanks guys!

Really little plants, tended to by gnome migrant workers.

Yeah, I can't win. Wherever I grew up such "smaller" farms were called gentlemen's farms, and no one knew what that meant. Hobby farm makes it sounds just like that. So it's either a "microfarm" or "big ass garden." I have a considerable spread this weekend I'm visiting a few places to learn more about hydroponics. And I want to have a greenhouse by next spring, right now I've been placing my seedlings in makeshift greenhouses made from old fish tanks.

My spread is all organic, no chemicals (though I do keep some fertilizer in storage).

    And I raise chickens.

Well, wherever we are, we are all works in progress. ;)

You might want to do a search box request for "aqua-ponics" , a twist on your hydroponics, and several folks on here have started their own systems. @Seacowboys, would be a good one to talk to about it. He has done quite well with his, by the sound of it.

Thank goodness you're not in NYC. Upstate New York is almost like America. ;)

    Almost. ;)

I'm of old Dutch heritage, so I'm as American as apple pie and as New York as crullers.
