Welcome to the Monkey Tree Tina. We are an odd lot of interesting souls, concerned about the survival of mankind. On that note, I do not covet your cold icy weather. Are you prepared should the power go out. Alternate source of heat, Food supplies, and Water?

Here in Southeast Texas we're dropping into the lower 20s tonight. We're busily preparing pipes, plants and pets for the cold snap. Fortunately we aren't expecting any precip.

    Good Luck

Yes, yes, and yes. The one thing we're running low on is chips. :) We have not lost power, but the major problem we are having is ice. My son has been out of school for three days and it will be Day 4 tomorrow of no school. I'm sitting here debating the best method of execution for the Kratt brothers--my son is very fond of the show Wild Kratts on PBS.

I did try to walk up to the store today, but I got a bit nervous because there were still patches of ice in the street, and there's a 1/2 thick layer of ice on top of the snow that fell on Sunday. My husband shoveled out the driveway today (that helped keep his cabin fever at bay). I've been keeping myself busy mostly on the computer, and yesterday I threw out a bunch of expired OTC meds.
