I understand all the industrial uses for hemp.
I also have heard all about it's nutritional properties.
I could concede that it may be the forgotten wonder plant of the century.
I know that hemp contains no THC.
I don't even care if you contain THC.

    If hemp contains no THC,
Why does the average 'legalize industrial hemp' supporter always tend to look like this?

    It just seems fishy.
If the legalize hemp folks had these people as the spokesmen, it would be a done deal:

So what am I missing and why does the legalize hemp dude on the talk show always sound a bit like Spicoli? If you grow fields of Hemp, can you hide the female (THC) plants among them? I thought you had to 'sex' them anyway and pull the males. I thought I had a pretty good handle on the pot culture. Hell, I support your right to burn one even though I don't. But I just dont understand the connection.

What does the pot crowd gain by legalizing hemp?

"Hemp" isn't hemp. Or is it? I guess I'll look it up.

George Washington grew himp, it makes for great rope from what I hear....I'm not sure why it was made illegal to begin with.

They don't, but that's the guy that will always get his picture taken or get picked for the interview...... it's what the sheeple want to see.

I think we are missing out by not embracing industrial hemp (and marijuana, but that's another topic). It's an incredible plant.

And if you do some research, you'll find that the criminalization of cannabis has been one of the most incredible "big business hit jobs" in our history, perpetrated by the cotton industry and it's co-parasite, the agricultural chemical industry.

    And did ya know:
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, in 1996, proposed to introduce a mandatory death penalty for a second offense of smuggling 50 grams of marijuana into the United States, in the proposed law H.R. 4170. This proposal failed.

Current Federal law (1994 Crime Act) sets the threshold for a possible death sentence for marijuana offenses at 60,000 kilograms or 60,000 plants (including seedlings) regardless of weight. The death penalty is also possible for running a continuing criminal enterprise that distributes marijuana and receives more than $20 million in proceeds in one year, regardless of the weight of marijuana involved.

The United States Supreme Court has held that no crimes other than murder can constitutionally carry a death sentence

IIRC hemp dose have THC in it its just in MUCH lower amounts than most of the stuff folks smoke.

I also agree that all the supporters of leagalizeing industrial (or medical) canibus dont look like that any more than all of Ron Pauls supporters are white suprimisists BUT since the idea is counter to what the MSM wants to portray then when ever they acknowledge proponents of the subject they pick representatives who they can use to make the IDEA look bad by moveing the focus to the messenger.

I just watched a program on how marijuana and hemp was illegalized on The History Channel last week, IIRC. For some reason I can't remember the name of the program. It'll come to me and most who are against it would be enlightned on the truth. I was going to post about it and got sidetrtacked with life.

The male and female plants have to be in the same group for the pollenization to appropriately occur. Once pollenation is done, the male plant dies and from the air, it is extremely observable from long distances away. If the male plants are pulled before pollenation, the female plants will extend the buds to try to catch the lack of pollen, making them more desirable..... or so I am told!
