Hi Ya'll

I am new here. I realize my screen name is a bit odd, but it suits me. It is an inside joke with my friends and family...I have been married 3 times and had 7 kids and I am a huge Raider of the Lost Ark fan...so there's where I got the name...

I am a cantankerous military raised Irish redhead. I am stubborn, abrasive, obnoxious, opinionated, assertive and agressive. Those are my GOOD qualities...

I hang out at Backwoodshome.com and was invited over by Monkeyman (so blame HIM!)

I am not an expert survivalist, though I did live in a tent for 5 months...I have managed to support my kids (now grown) and myself no matter what my circumstances...I have worked a lot of farm jobs...from dairies, to show horses to a branding crew.

My dream is to own my off-grid farm and do bio-intensive organic commercial gardening of heirloom veggie and fruit varieties and raise endangered farm animals (breeds thought to be not commercially viable and are dying out). I am an herbalist and certified reflexologist (foot rub anybody? <grin>)

Currently getting ready to open an arts and craft store for low-income folks to sell their creative efforts to help support them selves. I will be providing materials, workspace and gallery/retail space. I was able to find a grant from a private foundation ( won't mess with one from the gov't.) to start me out.

I will be in and out on a bit of a spotty basis while I am starting up my store. I have read a lot of the posts here and like what I see.

Well....we do share some traits....

 

Yeah.

 

My father was a drill sergeant and sniper instructor (22 & 1/2 years)...I was the only third grader that regularly spent school holidays hanging out at the firing range...

I went on a "only date SEALS, Rangers and Marine Recon" kick at one point in my life...(okay...also dated one guy in the Coast Guard S&R and an Air Force guy...but we won't discuss that...) Those little cusses just LOVE knives...got me into throwing knives...still my preferred *carry always* defensive weapon of choice.

I usually wear an ankle or leg sheath with 3 nicely balanced small throwing knives in it. They can inflict minor or major damage ...dependent on the persons attitude...and more importantly, MY attitude.

I currently have no firearms, but will be getting some after the start of 2006. My third husband was a convicted felon and I could not have a gun in the house around him. (Silly law, actually...he punched the cop with his FIST and had no other weapon on him...) I know technically, I could have weapons in my name, but I didn't want to borrow trouble, so I either disposed of all my firearms or stored them with friends and relatives.

And ghostrider...as for thick skin...puh-leeze...I was the kid that beat up the other kids and stole their lunch money at recess...I made my teachers cry....I was an ornery kid that grew into a very mean adult...when I want to be...AND I NEVER BACK DOWN. Not in my DNA.
